Departure Details & Packing List
Hey, Beyond FLYers!

I hope you are as excited as I am for Beyond FLY and some time away! I wanted to remind you of some final details regarding our departure time, a packing list, and let you know of some merch opportunities!

Departure Time:
Please be at Maranatha at 9:00am on Sunday, July 4. We’ll load the vans, make sure that the students have their medical release & liability forms signed, attend the Worship Service, have a send-off prayer with the congregation, and then head out!

Schedule:
A schedule for week has been posted here. Check it out!

Returning Time:
We aim to return to Maranatha by 7:00p on Saturday, July 10. We'll have student's text parents when we hit Jamestown to give you a more-exact heads up.

Packing List:
I’m not going to tell you how many pairs of underwear to bring (that’s what Moms are for (and why we have a day in May dedicated to them - but they really need more than just one day out of 365, amen?!)), but here’s a list of some things you’ll need:

-
Water bottle!
-
Bible (preferably physical, not digital), notebook, & pen.
-
Note: Cell phones are permitted for the purposes of Bible use, Bible reference, and note-taking during all sessions. If they become a distraction -- either during a session or during camp in general -- Beyond FLY staff has permission to put the phone in storage until an appropriate time.
-
-
One suitcase with clothes for the week (stored in trailer & accessable for our overnight stays) & one small carry-on backpack (the vans will be full).
-
Like much of the Pacific Northwest, Kalispell & Flathead Lake are under an excessive heat warning. The highs in Kalispell are projected to be in the upper-80s & lower-90s. And West Glacier, up in the mountains, isn't much cooler. (Did I mention bringing a water bottle?) Lows will be in the upper-50s.
-
Sunscreen!! Bug repellent!
-
Appropriate swimwear for swimming in the lake, going WWR, and our hotel stay.
-
-
Sleeping bag & pillow
-
Flathead Lake United Methodist Camp does not provide these. You are on your own.
-
Optional: Air mattress for night in Culbertson. (We will be sleeping on the floor and on padded pews.)
-
-
Toiletries, towels, medication, etc.
-
Dramamine is advised as we drive through the mountains.
-
Any prescription meds will be checked in with the camp nurse upon arrival.
-
Be sure to bring a water bottle - it's gonna be hot!
-
-
Appropriate footwear:
-
Shoes for recreation and hiking.
-
Shoes or sandals with strap around ankles for WWR (they will get wet). NO flip-flops. Read more on their requirements here. (Be sure to scroll to the bottom.)
-
-
$$ for 5 fast-food meals, souvenirs, snacks, and a water bottle (if you somehow happen to neglect bringing one!).
T-Shirts!
We made t-shirts! If you would like one, they are $15 and can be purchased when we load up. We did not take orders, so sizes are first-come-first-served.
I think that’s it! I am looking forward to the week! See you Sunday!

In Christ Jesus our Lord,
